The summer after I graduated from high school, my mom told me that I was going to help her cook dinner every night before I left for college. At that time, the idea that I would be trapped at home during the summer before leaving my friends was quite possibly the end of the world. Nearly a decade later, I'm so grateful she did. Too often I've had friends amazed that I can cook more than just mac&cheese.
While in college, I had the opportunity to live in Italy. There I learned about the vast amount of real Italian food we're missing out on. After that experience, I have made it a personal goal to explore the many flavors out there.
This collection of recipes are partly those my mom taught me, and partly some I've gained over the years. With the exception of the traditional kitchen-taught dishes, I do not claim credit for those I got from cookbooks. Rarely do I follow the recipe book to the letter anyway so I can safely say I am not "reprinting without permission"
